Meet the Team

Our eight-person team brings together art advisors, designers, working artists, makers, and project managers with deep experience in curation, fabrication, framing, installation, and delivery.

Small by design, we pair senior-level judgment with hands-on involvement, giving clients the expert capabilities of a larger firm with the responsiveness, curiosity, and care of a close-knit studio.

Based in Seattle, we work nationally and travel frequently for site visits, artist coordination, and installations.

    Vanessa Vaughan

    FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL

    Vanessa founded Parade in 2020 after more than 15 years working across art, design and architecture. Equal parts systems thinker and creative, she found in art consulting a career that perfectly suits her love of strategy, storytelling and aesthetics. Her background in Art History feeds an endless curiosity about the world - people, places, industries, cultures, and the ways they express themselves visually. She loves learning what makes each project unique and finding the artists who can bring that story to life. Vanessa is mom to two little girls and, outside work, is usually listening to music or a podcast, dreaming up a home project, or hosting a gathering of family and friends.

    Katy Lucy Abel

    PRINCIPAL

    Katy Lucy brings more than 20 years of experience across art and design, including a background in textile design, interiors and high-profile art consulting projects. She pairs an impeccable eye with deep knowledge of artists, makers and fabrication, and brings that experience to her leadership role at Parade. Katy Lucy is especially invested in building a healthy, motivated team. She recognizes individual strengths, cultivates talent and creates the conditions for people to do their best work. A practicing artist herself, she loves experimenting with different media and filling her home with beautiful handmade things. Originally from Houston, she fell in love with the Pacific Northwest in college and lives in Seattle with her husband, their daughter and two cats.

    Fanny Idoux

    SENIOR ART ADVISOR

    Fanny brings a depth of interior design experience to her curatorial work, with a particular love of color, material and creating a strong sense of place. Born and raised in the South of France, she first came to Washington on an exchange program, fell in love, and eventually made Seattle home. She stays closely connected to family, friends and culture in France, and her love of travel and experiencing different ways of life informs her practice. At home, she is mom to a sports-obsessed son, an enthusiastic gardener and dahlia grower, and a creative DIYer.

    Jake Millett

    CURATOR

    Jake is a Seattle-born multidisciplinary artist whose experience spans painting, murals, sculpture, fabrication and installation. As a working artist himself, he brings an artist’s perspective to Parade, collaborating closely with creative partners to shepherd original work from early concept through fabrication and delivery. His experience allows him to translate client goals into thoughtful, impactful artwork while supporting artists at every stage of the creative process. Years spent working in hospitality has also shaped his strong sense of service, communication, and follow-through. A new dad and lifelong Seattleite, Jake is an avid gardener, devoted cat dad, and recent catio-builder who takes great pride in being an active part of his South Seattle community.

    Vanessa Verigin-Burgess

    SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

    Vanessa leads production at Parade and is our go-to resource for figuring out how nearly any kind of artwork can actually be made, on time and on budget! With more than 15 years of experience in custom art, framing and fabrication, she combines deep technical knowledge with impeccable attention to detail, style and follow-through. Vanessa brings a true joie de vivre and up-for-anything spirit to her work - a natural “yes” person who enjoys finding a way forward. Outside Parade, she loves staying active and exploring local and faraway places with her husband Graham, her stepson and their dog.

    Sam Christensen

    STUDIO ASSOCIATE

    Sam is an artist, maker and natural problem-solver who has worked as an art handler, curator, studio assistant, art director and screen printer. At Parade, he brings that hands-on experience, and an endless curiosity about how things work, to the challenge of getting ambitious projects made. Originally from Wisconsin, Sam recently married the love of his life, Molly. When he isn’t making something, he’s usually biking, gardening, cooking, camping or exploring the mountains, and his warmth and easygoing nature make him someone who makes friends wherever he goes.

    Cameron Paine-Thaler

    PROJECT MANAGER

    Cameron brings an advocate’s mindset to project management, championing artists while helping complex ideas make their way successfully into the world. With a Master’s in Social Work and a background in campaign organizing, administration and program development, she eventually made her way back to a familiar career path. Cam's mother was an art curator, and some of her earliest experiences included tagging along to installations and artists’ studios. An avid reader, music lover, lifelong volunteer and community advocate, Cameron has lived in Seattle, New York and Portland and has a remarkable knack for finding - and befriending - interesting, talented people. She shares her life in Portland with her big rescue dog, Baja

    Gareth Arnold

    FINANCE & HR MANAGER

    Gareth brings a background in leadership, operations, and technology to Parade, overseeing the financial and people side of the business and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. Coming from London, he studied in Wales before eventually making Seattle home with Vanessa and their two daughters. Gareth is passionate about music, sports, and travel. He has visited more than 40 countries and is an enthusiastic homebrewer who brews special beers to mark family milestones.
