Vanessa Vaughan

Founder & Principal Art Consultant

Vanessa Vaughan earned her Art History and Studio Art degree from the University of British Columbia, where her research on contemporary indigenous artistic practice earned the Russ Patrick undergraduate research award.

Vanessa has over a decade of experience leading the design of custom art programs and overseeing the execution of ambitious projects for boutique hotels, multi-family developments, private residences, office and healthcare facilities. She has lived and worked in Vancouver, Seattle, Boston, New York, and London and is an avid traveler, seeking global inspiration for her practice.

Prior to founding Parade in 2019, Vanessa led the art consulting division at a prominent art company for 8 years. Vanessa’s professional experience also includes managing communications and new project acquisition for an award-winning architecture office in New York City, and managing event design & production for arts and culture events in Seattle.

Vanessa Burgess

Senior Project Manager

Vanessa Burgess has over 15 years of experience in custom art consulting, project management, and framing production. Her past experiences include servicing the wholesale framing industry, showroom management and frame design for the interior design community. Through her previous work as a sales consultant for a global hospitality art firm, she gained extensive experience managing large-scale, complex projects for some of the most well known design firms, procurement agencies, and ownership groups in North America.

Vanessa uses her expertise in art selection, frame design and manufacturing specifications, her meticulous attention to detail and her warm, polished communication style to ensure accuracy, quality and timeliness of Parade projects, while building strong relationships with our clients, artists, fabrication and installation partners.

Cameron Paine-Thaler

Project Manager

Cameron's diverse background in multiple industries centers around enhancing communities through effective project management. After living in New York City for several years, she graduated with her Masters in Social Work from Columbia university, with a focus in program planning and development, campaign organizing, and administrative management.

Born, raised, and now residing in Seattle, Washington, Cameron draws inspiration from her upbringing in a vibrant community of artists. She actively champions local art across all mediums, recognizing its power to connect and enrich communities and spaces.

 

Katy Lucy Abel

Principal & Art Consultant

Katy Lucy Abel brings over 20 years of experience in the design and art industries, with a diverse background spanning commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and residential sectors. Throughout her career, Katy Lucy has held roles ranging from Senior Director and Art Director to Project Manager, Interior Designer, and Artist, demonstrating her versatility across all phases of the design process—from concept development to final installation.

Katy Lucy has built a robust network of artists as well as partnerships with artisans and fabricators, allowing her to effectively leverage resources in the delivery of a wide variety of projects and art media. She has worked with high-profile clients such as Accor, Four Seasons, Fontainebleau, Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Google, Nordstrom, Uber, Kimpton, and multiple state universities, among others.

Based in Seattle, Katy Lucy draws inspiration from her diverse professional journey and her ability to navigate complex design applications with creativity and precision.

Fanny Idoux

Senior Art Consultant

Fanny Idoux was born and raised in the South of France and moved to Washington State after meeting her husband. She studied English at the Université de Provence and then Interior Design at the Art Institute of Seattle.

Before joining Parade, Fanny spent 15 years as an interior designer in hospitality, multi-family and senior living, where she designed spaces to evoke an emotional response and create a strong sense of place. Her love of working with tactile materials and color inform her approach to projects. Fanny applies her technical expertise, polished aesthetic, and a sensitive design philosophy to her curatorial practice.

Jake Millett

Curator

Jake Millett is a born and raised Seattle-based multidisciplinary artist and curator. Jake joined Parade with years of experience in fabrication and installation of metal and wood sculpture, site-specific art installations, digital art, printmaking, painting, and mural making. He has also spent years facilitating community art events and curating exhibitions to bring communities together through art.

Jake is an accomplished fine artist and muralist, and takes great pride in painting the walls of his hometown and beyond. He is passionate about creating and curating public artworks that connect and inspire the community. His artwork can be viewed at www.jakemillett.com or on Instagram: @bubzini.

Sam Christensen

Project Coordinator

Sam Christensen’s multifaceted background in the arts centers around supporting creative communities through thoughtful coordination and behind-the-scenes logistics. After earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Sam spent several years working across the country as an art handler, art director, curator, studio assistant, and screen printing shop owner.

Now based in Seattle, Sam draws on his lived experience as both a working artist and arts professional to support Parade’s projects with insight and care. He actively participates in the local art scene—exhibiting his own work, assisting established painters, and installing artwork for a variety of clients. His commitment to the arts is rooted in a deep understanding of the labor and collaboration required to bring creative visions to life.
